Bulk SMS Costs and Pricing

There are three factors to take into account when considering the cost of sending an SMS:

  • The cost per SMS in the SMS credit bundle purchased.
  • The country or countries the SMS messages are being sent to.

  • The route you use to send your SMS messages.

No. BulkSMS operates on a prepaid basis.

You simply purchase SMS credit bundles and use them as and when you need to. There is no monthly fee, no setup fee, and no contract fee involved when using our SMS service.

No, they don’t.

BulkSMS SMS credits do NOT expire. This means that your SMS credits will be available in your BulkSMS account for as long as you need them.

Standard SMS messages may be up to 160 characters long.

Contact Management

Section 8 of the BulkSMS terms and conditions state that BulkSMS will not intercept, monitor, copy or disclose any User messages or personal information, including the User’s phonebook.

This means that BulkSMS is not allowed to disclose the contacts or client lists saved to the BulkSMS platform.

Registration and Account Management

If you have lost your username and password, you can easily recover both by clicking “forgot password” on the login page and entering your email address. You will be asked whether you would like your password recovery message to be sent to your email address

Terminologies

Promotional or Business SMS

Promotional and business SMS are used to market business and send offers or promotions to new and existing customers. A six-character Sender ID is usually configured beforehand.

Promotion /Business SMS include:

  • Quick SMS – quick SMS is a way of sending a single message to one mobile phone number at a time. Example of when a quick SMS can be used is when testing if the line is active.
  • Broadcast – SMS Broadcast is a method of sending generic messages to multiple mobile telephone users at the same time.
  • Bulk Upload – bulk upload is a method of sending customized messages to multiple mobile telephone users at the same time.
  • WhatsApp

Transactional SMS

  • Transactional SMS are used for sending transactional SMS and alerts.
  • One Time Pin (OTP) and alerts are an example of a transactional SMS sent out to registered users eg from banks.

Short code

Short Codes are special five-digit numbers. 22111, 33444 that are used to facilitate communication on mobile phones. Should codes can be used in the following scenarios: –

  • Entertainment to send updates to customers.
  • In Surveys and Opinion polls to collect feedback by way of SMS
  • In notification as a method of informing or updating clients on important events
